WLYSA Programs

House League (U3-U18)

Our house programs continues to provide fun opportunities to participate in the sport of soccer whilst learning the basics of the game.

Our younger players have the opportunity to play twice a week and get lots of touches on the ball to give them all the best chance to improve as soccer players. Our club values are represented by our house league coaches who provide a safe and fun learning environment for all of our players.

Our older players (13+) will have increased leadership opportunities over the coming year as we implement our new life skills programming in conjunction with the house league.

Excel Training Program (U11-U18)

The Excel training program is a new, FREE program that allows all of our dedicated players an opportunity to practice with other like-minded players. It is also an opportunity to challenge yourself against players of different ages. These sessions will be focused and fun to make sure the players get the best environment to excel as soccer players. Players will have the chance to practice with our most experienced coaches and learn from each other. Practices will last 90 minutes.

Players may also get the opportunity to participate in some tournaments and exhibition games for a small fee.

This program is open to all players in the outlined age range. Whether they are playing house, rep or development, this is an opportunity to receive additional coaching and practice time during the soccer season. Players will be expected to be able to focus during the whole session.

All players will arrive at the same time but will be split into age groups (11-15; 14-18) to ensure the appropriate level of challenge for each player. Players may move between groups each week depending on their individual needs.

Rep Program (U13-U18)

This season, players will no longer be required to play in the house league but have the option to participate as a rep team player only. Players will receive one to two practices per week as well as increased number of games on weekends compared to previous years. Teams should attend at least two tournaments (additional tournaments may require additional fundraising by the team).

For the registration fee, players will receive:

  • Team jersey (home and away) to be returned at the end of the season
  • Team shorts to keep
  • Team socks (home and away) to keep
  • BC Soccer registration
  • Free education sessions (Future Playing Opportunities, Nutrition, Goal Setting and more)

Teams may decide to buy additional gear, such as tracksuits, that may require additional fees.

Whilst there is now the option to not play in the house league, all players are encourage to still play house soccer. We are also introducing an Excel training program for extra practice sessions that rep players are encouraged to attend.

This program is for players who want to get better at soccer and participate in competitive fixtures and tournaments across the province of BC. Regular travel may be required. Players may not receive equal playing time.

Development Program (U11-U12)

Our development programs are open to all players of the required age. These teams will participate in exhibition games and at least one tournament throughout the season. Players will have at least one additional team practice each week. Players are still required to play house league soccer at these ages.

For the registration fee, players will receive:

  • Team jersey (to be returned at the end of the season)
  • Team shorts (to keep)
  • Team socks (to keep)

Players will receive equal playing time over the course of the season, not on a game by game basis. This program will help prepare the players for the rep programs as they get older. The practices will be more challenging than house practices and players will be required to be more focused.

Future Stars (U9-U10)

The Future Stars program has one additional practice each week (Wednesdays) and players will get the opportunity to play against teams from other towns. Players also have the opportunity to play in a tournament at the end of the summer.

For the registration fee, players will receive:

  • Team Jersey (to be returned at the end of the season)
  • Team shorts (to keep)
  • Team socks (to keep)

This program is open to all players wanting to participate a little bit more during the summer. Practices are mixed altogether and players are grouped based on their current ability level to ensure the best environment for everyone to learn. Players will receive coaching from our trained coaches and will greatly boost their soccer skills. This is the first step on a player’s competitive journey so practices will be more focused than a house practice but you can still expect to have a lot of fun!
