Our Spring Outdoor Soccer Season is scheduled to begin late April or early May depending on the field and weather conditions this spring. 

Register during Early Registration for a chance to win a BRIGHT Soccer Ball!

A name will be drawn in each of the following age groups for a total of 5 balls to be won: Little Kickers (3-5 year olds), Mini Boys (U6-U10), Mini Girls (U6-U10), Senior Boys (U11-U18), Senior Girls (U11-U18). 

 

2024 Potential Practice Schedule 

U3 to U5 Divisions - 1 practice/game time per week. Parents are asked to choose at the time of registration if they wish to practice on Wednesday Evenings or Saturday Mornings. 

U6 to U13 Divisions - 1 practice during weekdays, and 1 game on Saturday mornings each week. 

U14 to U18 Divisions - 2 games scheduled per week. Group drop-in practice session will be scheduled following responses received during Early and Regular registrations.

2024 Registration Fees

Little Kickers

The Little Kickers program offers U3, U4, and U5 age groups the opportunity to begin learning soccer skills, and team environments. Parents are often required to participate in the program to encourage their child to participate. 

Parents have the option of Wednesday evening or Saturday morning sessions. Little Kickers program runs for 45 minutes once per week for team practices. Games are not introduced formally until U6 following BC Soccer Long Term Athlete Development.

Mini Division 

The Mini Division includes U6 - U10 age groups. The House program includes a weekday evening practice, and Saturday morning games. 

No Games - May 18th long weekend.

Jamboree Wrap Up Weekend - June 22nd

**New Age Groups for 2024: U6-U8 girls will be combined. All other age groups remain the same (U6 boys, U7/8 Boys, U9/10 Girls, U9/10 Boys)

Senior Division

WLYSA is offering to our senior players in the U11-U18 age categories the choice between playing House only, Rep only, or both House and Rep.

U11 - U13 House age groups include a weekday evening practice, and Saturday morning games. 

**New for 2024: U11 - U13 will now be combined to follow new BC Soccer and Canada Soccer 9v9 small side game formats. U11-U13 will be placed onto teams for the season. 

 

All other age groups will be planned as follows: U14/U15 girls, U16-U18 girls,

**NEW U14-U16 Boys. U17 - U18 Boys will be contacted for options regarding their season. Late fees for U14 - U16 Boys will be waived until April 6th, 2024. 

A drop-in practice time will be offered for U14+ players. Please select the preferred time when completing your registration. 

U14+ will be given WLYSA t-shirts at the beginning of the season, and pinnies will be used throughout the year to create more fluid and even game play depending on who attendance each game day.

Referee Program

The WLYSA Referee Program will be changing for 2024 with more support for our referees. For full details on the program and the requirements please visit: http://www.wlysa.com/content/wlysa-referee-program 

In summary: 

Anyone 12 years and older at the time of the referee clinic are eligible to become a referee. Referees are required to take and pass the online and field components of their training.

WLYSA reimburses all referees for their training after refereeing games for us during the spring season. WLYSA referees are paid a set honorarium per game based on the age group they are refereeing.

If you or your player are interested in becoming a referee, please check the box during registration. WLYSA will send a follow up email with instructions to register for the referee clinics. 

 

Coaches 

The WLYSA Spring Season is entirely run by volunteer coaches and assistant coaches. 

All coaches will be responsible for the following:

  • completing a free Criminal Record Check 
  • contacting their team during the season with changes in scheduling due to coach availability or weather (via email or texting) - or working with a team phone parent to notify team members of changes in the schedule
  • looking after their team's ball bag and cones for the season

*Spring Season Coaches that completed the following will receive a 30% credit toward future registrations at the end of the season for one of their player's Spring Season registration fees. For greater clarity, this rebate is only applicable to the registration of a Player who is the coach's child or a member of their immediate family.

  • completing the online and field portions of the BC Soccer coaching courses appropriate to the age level they are coaching (Paid for by WLYSA)
  • completing the Respect in Sport for Leaders online course (Paid for by WLYSA or proof of completion can be transferred from another organization)
  • complete the 8 week season with your team

Coaches have the option to use the WLYSA weekly coaching plans or provide their own drills for practice. We welcome all levels of experience to volunteer for our association!

Family Discount

For families registering more than 2 players, you are still eligible to receive the family discount for each player after the first 2 children in the same family are registered.

Online Registration

Online Registration is available for anyone interested in paying by CREDIT CARD or INTERACT E-TRANSFER. 

A 4% non refundable Admin Fee will be applied to the registration total on Credit Card transactions.

Please note that if you are new to Ramp Interactive online registrations, you will be asked to upload a picture of each child's birth certificate into the secure system.

Paper Registration

Offline Paper Registrations are back this year!

This option will only be available for Cash or Cheque payments, and the registration will need to be mailed to WLYSA or dropped into the drop-box at the Foundry Cariboo Chilcotin. Both addresses are available on the paper registration.

Payment Through Another Organization

If you need an invoice sent to another organization, please complete the following steps:

  • Register online and use the "E-transfer" payment option at check-out (this will allow you to complete the registration without paying at the time of registering)
  • OR register using a paper form and indicate near the total due the organization to be invoiced. 
  • Email Alexis at admin@wlysa.com to let her know of the player's name and the organization to be invoiced through WLYSA. 

 

KidSport 

KidSport Williams Lake is a group of volunteers who raise money to help athletes and families break down the financial barriers that would otherwise prevent children from participating in organized sports.

If you require financial assistance to cover registration fees, KidSport paper applications are available in the school offices in Williams Lake, at the Recreation Complex, and online by clicking the link below.
